September 2026 Product Updates: What's New in MediaZilla
TL;DR
Eight changes went live between September 18 and October 1. Four of them change what your buyers can do with what you deliver. Three of them eliminate the need to contact support for things that should have always been self-serve. One fixes a Safari timestamp bug that was breaking chapter navigation on Mac.
Since September 14, MediaZilla has introduced eight updates to make project organization, video delivery, and monetization easier. From folders and content recovery to buyer downloads and a redesigned Viewer Library, here's what's new.
1. Organize your projects with folders
Projects now support folders and subfolders up to five levels deep, helping you keep raw footage, selects, client edits, and final videos organized.
For a wedding project, you could create folders for the ceremony, speeches, and reception, then separate working edits from approved versions inside each one.
Drag a content tile onto a folder to move it, or drag files from your desktop directly onto a folder to upload them there. You can also switch between grid and list views.
2. Recover accidentally deleted content
Deleted something by mistake? Use Undo immediately, or recover it from Recently Deleted, next to Create Project, within seven days.
If a teammate accidentally removes a client’s final presentation, you can see who deleted it, when, and where it belonged, then restore it yourself without waiting for support.
Restored content returns to its original location, and previously published presentations return published.
3. Let buyers download their purchases
The new Paywall download setting gives everyone who purchases a presentation permission to download it. When enabling the setting, you can also extend access to previous buyers.
If you sell a school performance, for example, families can download the purchased video to keep instead of relying only on streaming access.
One setting handles download permissions across buyers, saving you from granting access individually.
4. One purchase unlocks an add-on for everyone
An add-on can now be configured so that the first purchase unlocks it for every viewer of that presentation.
Imagine delivering a wedding film with an optional extended speeches video. One family member purchases the extra, and everyone with viewing access to that presentation can watch it.
You can turn this option on or off anytime, depending on how you want to sell each add-on.
5. A better viewing experience from the first click
Released October 1, the updated Viewer Library displays content in a cleaner grid of posters and titles.
When a client opens their film, they first see a full-window page with its poster, title, description, and available actions, such as sharing, downloading, and delivery. They can review those options before pressing play.
Videos and presentations also play full-window, while a Get the apps link in the menu makes the apps easier to find.
6. Manage all your monetization in one place
The new Monetization page brings account-wide revenue, sales, and checkouts together, with dedicated tabs for Paywalls and add-ons.
If you sell videos across several projects, you can review their sales from one page instead of opening each project separately. The Opportunities tab also highlights content you could sell and paid content that needs attention, with links to the relevant settings.
Find it on the new dashboard by clicking Try the new dashboard at the top of your current dashboard.
7. Clearer explanations when payments aren't available
If a Paywall or add-on cannot accept payments, the Monetize tabs and Integrations page now explain why and what to do next.
For example, if you’ve prepared a paid presentation but haven’t connected a payment account, you’ll see what needs attention instead of only an Inactive label.
This helps you identify missing connections or plan limitations before a buyer tries to check out.
8. Chapter buttons now work correctly in Safari
A recent Safari update caused some presentation buttons to start videos at 0:00 instead of the selected moment. That issue is now fixed.
If you’ve created buttons for individual recital performances or wedding chapters, viewers using Safari on Mac can jump to the intended moment rather than starting the video again.
